CBI arrests Udhampur fireman for accepting 15,000 bribe | KNO

Udhampur, Oct 06 (KNO): The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) on Tuesday arrested a Fireman posted under the Assistant Director, Fire & Emergency Services, Udhampur, after catching him red-handed while demanding and accepting a rupees 15,000 bribe for processing and issuance of a Fire & Emergency Services NOC for a hotel in Katra. In a statement issued to the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO), the CBI said it registered a case against the accused on October 6 based on a complaint alleging that he had demanded a rupees 40,000 bribe from the complainant for processing and issuance of the NOC. The CBI said that after negotiation, the accused agreed to accept rupees 15,000 from the complainant. It said a trap was laid on October 6, following which the accused was caught red-handed while demanding and accepting the rupees 15,000 bribe from the complainant.
